This project aims to make a first list of the bats found in Los Altos del Nsork National Park (ANNP), the second largest protected area in Equatorial Guinea Republic. Despite being a National Park since the early 2000 there is no information on its bat and fauna which might already be threatened by habitat fragmentation deforestation. We will carry out field expeditions to survey the bat fauna inside the National Park as well as provide capacity building and educational activities for locals. We will identify the most vulnerable species and describe the threats. Based on previous data we expect at least 25 species of 6 families some of which are classified as Endangered and Vulnerable by the IUCN Red List. Moreover, we plan to provide a report for the local institution in charge of the protected areas to reinforce the conservation strategies applied in Los Altos del Nsork National Park. The work will be based on the preparation of a list of this nature by holding learning talks with the local population about the importance of bats. Carry out small surveys of the population about knowledge and its existence in the place and then contribute to their conservation in communities.
